Elegant Romance: A Pink and Gold Wedding

Pink is a popular color for weddings, but it is not so commonly paired with gold. It tends to be used with more springy colors, rather than a formal metallic. And yet, the combination of pink and gold is quite beautiful, and is a great choice when you are hoping to design a wedding with an ambiance that is both feminine and formal at the same time. It would be equally wonderful for a wedding on a spring afternoon or a dressy evening wedding.

Pink and gold are both very soft colors, which makes them easy to incorporate into the wedding attire. The bride can wear a gown with intricate embroidery on the bodice in shades of pink, gold, or both. The more gold thread, the more elegant and formal the effect will be. This can be carried through into the bridal jewelry and other accessories, as well. Pink pearls or crystals are lovely and classic when used to create handmade bridal jewelry in gold. Choose a fabulous pair of gold shoes, and you will be ready to dance the night away!

Certainly, the pink and gold colors are pretty for such details as the wedding flowers. Because the palette is quite elegant, it will be the most beautiful when the flowers chosen are also on the formal side. You could not go wrong with a large bouquet of pink garden roses tied with a sheer gold organza bow. A spring bride might substitute peonies or tulips for the roses, or even use a mixture of all three for a lush and romantic bouquet. Touches of gold can be added into the bouquets in the form of gold painted berries or even stalks of golden wheat.

The pink and gold theme will be enchanting for the wedding reception. Forgo the standard white tablelinens and china in favor of more unique pieces in your signature colors. Rent a set of china that has a romantic scroll design in pink and gold around the rim, or go ultra feminine with a vintage floral motif like a chintz pattern. For the tablecloths, it would look very nice to select a subtle print or embroidered organza that incorporates both colors. This will give you the maximum impact for your wedding design.
